A forgotten feeling

Guess what these babies did yesterday?!?

They ran!! Well really just a quick jog to pilates and then another jaunt to the gym, but still, those few blocks were more or less pain free. I can’t remember the last time I did not feel any pain trying to move faster than a walking pace. I didn’t want to push it since I was feeling a slight aching feeling, so after an intense pilates class I just did a quick cardio workout on the elliptical and called it a successful day of exercise.

It was also a successful day of food. I’m pretty good about making my breakfasts and lunches at home and bringing them with me to work during the week. But I always appreciate the weekends when I can make, eat and clean up my meals in the comfort of my own home.

Breakfast was supposed to be a pancake (egg whites, half of a banana, cinnamon, vanilla), but it did not stay together as I had hoped and it made more of a scramble. Delicious none the less – topped with maple syrup from my Foodie Pen Pal.

Lunch was a colorful salad of cottage cheese, almond cheese, sesame seeds and avocado.

Dinner was not as successful as I would have liked it to have been but with a little tweaking this will be a winner.

I attempted to make turkey meatballs with some scallions, garlic powder, oregano and S+P, but they came out pretty dry.

I served them over veggies and drenched them in tomato sauce, which helped.

The meal still managed to fill me up and leave me satisfied 🙂

Adding an egg to your meatballs will help a lot. Also, so proud of you for running! And guess what? My toes are the same color!!!
