A Comforting Smell

Whenever we go on hikes Dave (my fiance) is bound to identify some plant that has some medicinal purpose, a story, a great smell, or even all three. He pauses wherever we are in conversation, bends down, and promptly begins to tell the tale of the plant, divulging its secrets and purpose.

Now, without pause, whenever there is a eucalyptus tree he plucks a leaf, folds it in half and passes it to me to smell.

Eucalyptus is now such a comforting scent. And even though he is miles away right now, I am thinking of him before bed.

Sleep well everyone!
