Now that I am working longer hours and my commute is longer I have to eat strategically. I was able to wake up early enough to get to my gym right at 5:30am to get in a quick 4 mile run before I had to go back to my apartment, gather my things and head to the bus to make it to work by 8am.
I wanted to refuel after my run and fill myself up for as long as possible, so I made a protein bowl in the microwave.
I blended half of a big banana, 1/2 cup of egg whites and a scoop of vanilla protein powder. Then I put it in the microwave for about a minute and a half. I topped the lovely creation with some almond butter and scarfed it all down before I left for the day.
To hold me over through lunch I munched on this perfect sized mini luna bar.
I grabbed a bunch of these sample sized bars months ago at an event and I am wishing that I had grabbed more for mid morning snacks like this. Anyone know if you can purchase these mini sizes anywhere? I am assuming they are just for sample distribution.
Lunch was a hummus, cucumber and avocado sandwich.
With some un-pictured cooked carrots on the side.
I certain special someone came home last night, so I just put together a quick and easy turkey salad while catching up with Dave! Yes, Dave has been traveling for two weeks in Vietnam and just got back. so last night was full of catching up on foreign lands and new occupations.
I am so happy he is home! Things are falling into place – new job, boyfriend home and now it’s just time for the weather to cooperate and bring the warmer weather.
