Yesterday was a much better day than the previous one. I felt rejuvenated after crying and I was ready to take on the day after a good sleep. I made breakfast all by myself in the morning – I cooked eggs and topped them with goodies AND somehow made it to the couch with my bowl of deliciousness.
I even changed the cat’s food and gave her fresh water all on my own.
All of these tasks were completed slower than normal of course and with some awkward moves, but it feels great to take care of myself – especially thinking back to two weeks ago when I couldn’t even turn over in bed without assistance.
It also felt good to touch the sand again! I childhood friend happened to be in the area and she lovingly stopped by to visit for a bit, so we headed to the beach! Let’s just say crutches and the sand do not mix, but I was determined to see the water.
Somehow I maneuvered my way across the unstable ground and dug my toes into the sand. There’s nothing better than hearing the crash of the waves and having sand beneath your feet.
I’m reaching the end of another week, which means I am another week closer to walking and hundreds of crutching steps stronger š
Happy almost Friday!
I am loving the A-T-T-I-T-U-D-E!
