Time to Sweat

Over the past few weeks on crutches I have worked my way up from shuffling to the bathroom to hopping up and down 3 flights of stairs. For the past week or so we have made an effort to take one outing a day so I can feel human and so I can get some exercise.

Well yesterday I decided that I didn’t feel like I was actually getting enough exercise. In fact I felt more like this lazy bum:

So we went for a trip around the neighborhood crutching the whole time.

Let’s just say that I definitely got my heart rate jumpin’ and my arm muscles burning.

Halfway through the exercise journey we stopped for lunch to rest for a bit outside and we made a new friend.

I managed to crutch all the way home and needless to say I was exhausted! But I had enough energy to pull together this dinner:

Southwest quinoa, with black beans, corn, red pepper, onion, avocado and spices: cayenne, pepper, garlic powder, paprika

Just a quick saute all together and dinner was served 🙂

The best sleep is after long days like this and I enjoyed every moment dozing in bed.
