Floating

Even though my surgeon has not prescribed daily physical therapy the only way that I am going to build up my leg muscle is by exercising. So almost every day after work I try my best to workout in some capacity.

My go to is swimming because it is the best cardio workout I can get right now. In addition to being a great workout, simply being in the pool feels great after a long day of work. Feeling weightless and listening to the lapping of the water is my favorite way to end the day.

I miss running – the freedom of just stepping out the door and transporting yourself somewhere – but I know that I will be taking that first step soon enough. For now I am grateful that I can take a walk, swim laps in a pool and get on a bike if I choose. I will continue to float on cross training until I can lace up those sneakers again and hit the pavement.
