Run it off

My Chi Running book came in the mail and I dove right into it. So far I’ve only read chapter 1 and I am more interested in getting to chapter 4, which focuses on technique, but this one sentence was quite appropriate for yesterday:

“… I love running. It’s like having an old friend that is always there when you need a lift in spirits”.

Work has been stressful and frustrating and I needed some sort of release when I got home, so I headed to the gym and hopped on the treadmill. Wearing my new shoes, with mole skin to prevent another blistery mess, I focused on my form and just ran. It felt great! The only thing I thought about was my feet hitting the belt and keeping my posture.

As I slowed down to a comfortable walking pace I could feel that I had sweated out the day and left it behind me. I was able to enjoy the rest of the evening relaxing and flipping through chapter 2….
