After an hour of stretching, posing, pulsing and tucking, combined with deep breathing I feel a huge sense of relief and calm. As soon as I walk into the pilates studio I try to leave as much of the day outside and simply focus on myself. As soon as we start our planks and child poses the rest of my emotional baggage slips away and I can take a deep, full breath.
I know it’s almost the end of the week and the weekend is in sight, but until we reach Friday at 5pm just take a moment today, before work, during a lunch break, when you step back into your home or even right before bed, to stretch, bend and breath.
Take 3 deep breaths with each exercise
Then make yourself something that warms your soul – like a banana scramble perhaps?
one banana, 1/2 cup of egg whites, 1 tablespoon of raw oats, splash of vanilla and a splash of cinnamon. Blend and then cook like scrambled eggs in a pan. Feeds the soul and the body after a good stretch session.
