Back when I could run I would mix up my weekday mornings with a long jog before work. Now that my exercise is limited and fits into my schedule as an evening activity, my morning routine has changed.

I still wake up early, no thanks to miss big eyes,


but instead of stepping out the door to run by the water, I grab a seat on the couch and watch the morning news.

I check email, get my daily dose of what’s happening in the world and slowly get dressed.

I also have time to make nice meals instead of dining and dashing.


While I do miss those early morning runs, I appreciate my morning routine of getting prepared for the day. And soon enough I will be able to run again and won’t have any excuse not to see that sunrise.
