Dining Out While Cleansing

Today was day 2 of the cleanse and so far so good.

The suggested guidelines for the first week include, removing flour and sugar from your diet and adding a green juice in the morning.

Yesterday, when I would have normally reached for some cereal as a snack, I simply satisfied my urge with some peanuts. But yesterday all of my meals were eaten at home, making it much easier to stay on track.

Day 2 was more of a challenge with the temptations of restaurant food.

When I woke up this morning I juiced up another green lemonade like yesterday and set off for the yoga studio to teach and practice.

For lunch I met this handsome devil

and I was able to enjoy a quinoa salad with chicken. I didn’t even reach over to his plate once to grab the remains of his pizza crust. Believe me, this was a struggle.

Then for dinner we went out with some family friends and I withheld from partaking in the bread basket and enjoyed this delicious piece of snapper with kale and sweet potatoes.

All in all I am not missing the flour and even though it’s been less than 48 hours I already notice how much more conscious I am about the foods I am putting into my body.

Have you ever done a cleanse?

What have been your experiences?
