Happy New Year!
4 years ago to the day I started this very blog. Every day of 2012 I took a moment to share what I was feeling, eating, doing or not doing. It was a time when I was discovering my love of running and exploring my new home in the Bay Area.
Since that year of dedicated blogging I have experienced a major injury, got engaged, lived abroad and found a new passion of Yoga.
It has been a wild, unexpected and exciting ride and I have decided to embark on another year of daily blogging to capture all of 2016.
To start the year off on a healthy foot I am taking the plunge into a cleanse. Not to worry, I’m not fasting or drinking all of my meals. Instead, I am taking three weeks to really focus on what I’m eating and incorporating some healthier habits.
This morning I jumped out of bed to use my new juicer to make, what turned out to be, a delicious green lemonade.

I teach yoga at and help manage the studio Gratitude Yoga in Princeton, NJ. The beautiful owner, Gemma Farrell, wrote her own cleanse and I am following along with her book Gratitude Cleanse.
Each day should be started with her Green Lemonade:
- Kale
- Romaine Lettuce
- Ginger
- Lemon
- Apples
And for the first week you cut out all flours and sugar in you diet.
I’ll keep you posted on how this challenging first step goes…
For now, down the hatch!
